When I walked down the hill from Pashinupath to Boudhanath there was a wedding party leaving a Hindu temple and I was able to take some photographs as they left the temple.
From the wedding I walked over to Boudhanath,(meaning Lord of Wisdom), classified as a World Heritage Site and which is a Buddhist Stupa. The site is important to the Buddhist and is one of the largest and significant Buddhist monument in the world. In the past when the trade routes to Tibet were open traders, travellers and pilgrims would stop at the stupa asking for a blessing for safe passage over the mountains or to give thanks for a safe passage from Tibet. The original stupa was built in the 4th century with the present one being built in the 16th century. The dome is 40 metres in diameter and 43 metre in height.
